Interview with ORF on the collateral damage to maternal and child health by the pandemic

#DigitalDialoguesORF | Covid-19 and its impact on maternal and child care

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the shutting down of economies and essential services, disrupting medical services across the world. In India, the lockdown, while necessary to slow the spread, observed that non-essential medical services and support were more or less stalled, even for the elderly. Moreover, hospitals were prime hotspots for catching infections. Here, we discuss the impact of COVID-19 on maternal and child care, immunization coverage, and how the gaps in the health system are being reduced.

Kriti Kapur, Fellow with ORF’s Health Initiative, in conversation with Dr Rahul Manchanda, Gynae Endoscopic Surgeon, M.B.B.S., MD, FICOG, FICMCH, FICS, FACS.
